After being strongly apposed by the citizens of Neptune, Atlantic and Jacksonville Beach, Wal-mart has bullied it's way to having a store built in Neptune Beach. To avoid the possibility of spending a million plus dollars on a lawsuit, the Neptune Beach city council voted 4 to 1 in favor of Wal-mart building one of their super stores off Atlantic Blvd.
So, is there anything the citizens of the beaches can do? It seems that perhaps protests, rallies and outrage could dissuade this giant conglomerate from invading our scenic village-like lifestyle.
